Student Awards from the production include:

  • Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Evan Tschetter as Bert
  • Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Mia Andringa as Mrs. Banks
  • Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Jenna Vande Zande as Jane
  • Special Recognition for Performance in Principal Role: Breece Gibson as Miss Andrew
  • Invitations for competition for the Triple Threat Award: Abby Dart and Evan Tschetter

Dart, who will be returning to the Showcase for the third time, says she is excited to reconnect with theater students from across the state that she has met at the previous showcases.

“The most important thing to me is the relationships that I’ve created and that I have from triple threat. And getting to have those people in my life who really are my people, I found my people through this program, it’s really helped me learn where I want to go with my future because of what triple threat has done for me.”

The cast of Mary Poppins will perform a portion of their show at Des Moines Civic Center for the 2024 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase.
