The Twin Cedars Community School District Board of Directors has announced the hiring of a new secondary principal, pending board approval at their June 10th board meeting. 

After interviewing the three finalists for the position on Wednesday, the board of directors elected to offer the position to Tom Hallgren, who accepted the offer. Currently, Hallgren serves as a high school English teacher in the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Community School District. He is a member of the secondary building leadership team, a Professional Learning Community leader for the language arts department, and the assistant activities director. Hallgren notably led the formation and management of the Behavioral Student Assistance Committee to support student behavior. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership with principal licensure from Viterbo University. Previously, Hallgren was a high school English teacher in the Cardinal Community School District.

Hallgren will officially begin his contract at Twin Cedars on August 1st.
