After having the weekend off, the Knoxville Summer Sports Squads will return to action this week. The baseball Panthers will head to Chariton for a game as Knoxville will try to get another win in the South Central Conference. The Panthers rolled over Centerville on Friday and plays a Charger squad that has won three of its last four and dusted off Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Friday 10-0. Coach Turner Devore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team needs to be better at certain situations.
Devore: “We have to stick to our processes. One thing we may have to do is hit a 37 hopper to the 2nd baseman. Sometimes we don’t have to do the flashy thing, maybe it’s just to get a base hit.”
The Panthers are at the end of their road stretch of games that has it ending in Gilbert tomorrow. First pitch Monday in Chariton is set for 7:30.
