The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad closed out the Murray Invitational with two losses on Saturday. The Saints fell to the host Mustangs 12-2 and lost to Orient-Macksburg 10-9. In game one against Murray, a close game was broken open by a seven run 5th inning by the Mustangs. Jenna Mickey went 2/3 for the Saints. Lotty Notle took the loss going 4 2/3 innings. In the second game, the Saints got down early and could not complete the comeback as they scored three runs in the 7th, but needed a fourth to keep the game going. Orient-Macksburg scored in every inning except the sixth, but the Saints outhit the Bulldogs 13-12. Mickey, Paetyn Anderson, Danni Enfield, Brooklyn Metz, and Brylee Gibson all had two hits. Nolte again took the loss going the distance. Melcher-Dallas will host Seymour on Tuesday.
