The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers annual summer program of activities is returning to Lake Red Rock. Park Ranger Tracy Spry says that there will be a variety of opportunities for those of all ages to enjoy nature, ranging from wildlife interaction events, camps for youth, and educational programs.
“We’ll be doing a great new activity with the Iowa State Insect Zoo that’s going to be coming out in June. They’ll be a special guest for us this year and about a hundred of their special, creepy crawly guests that’ll be joining them. That’ll be at our visitor center on June 29th. We’ll be doing some of our different paddling activities this year, where we bring out our kayaks and canoes to Roberts Creek. And we’ve got all those dates in our visitor center, as well as in our guide, and these activities are free. So, it’s a lot of fun things to do with families that you might give a try.”
