Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.

The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. A large group of community healthcare organizations and others showed up at this week’s meeting to share information. Del Bennett with Marion County Public Health says this is just a way to get details out for all of the resources available in Marion County.

“It just amazes me the resources that Marion County as a whole does have. We change, staff changes and everything, but it’s still always new people coming or the same old friends are coming. Maybe services have changed, and it’s more of a reach out to get names out to the community so we can get referrals for the people in need.”

It was also stated at the meeting that CROSS Mental Health will be officially transitioning their name to Heart of Iowa Community Services on July 1st.  The Marion County providers meeting is held the first Monday of every month.
