Aging Resources of Central Iowa is offering a farmers market nutrition program in Marion County.
This is a way to provide Iowa seniors with fresh fruit, vegetables, and honey from farmers markets and farm stands. Del Bennett, who is in charge of senior nutrition at Marion County Public Health, says this is for any farmers market in the state.
“Any senior 60 and older through the Aging resources can get up to $50 in farmers market vouchers and that can be good for any farmers market in the state of Iowa.”
This program is income based and you need to make less than $27,861 for a household of one or less than $37,814 for a house of two. For more information about the program you can follow this link.
