The Pella City Council approved several resolutions and discussed multiple topics during Tuesday’s Pella City Council meeting.
During regular business, the council set a public hearing to accept bids for West 9th Street improvements, increased and changed several fees for Pella Community Services uses, entered into a contract with Snyder and Associates for engineering services related Kiwanis Park Phase Three Improvements, scheduled a public hearing for the Epcon Residential Urban Renewal Plan, entered into an engagement agreement with Ahlers and Cooney for bond and disclosure legal counsel, and set a public hearing for an $800,000 bond issuance for water department improvements.
In an extensive policy and planning session, the council talked off-site improvements for the new Kwik Star location, an update to the Southside Beautification Project and Hazel Street sidewalk extension, planning and zoning fee changes, and a request for Pella City Council committees. No formal action was taken.
A closed session was held to discuss employees not covered by collective bargaining agreements.
