The Pleasantville softball team defeated Interstate 35 on Tuesday night as the baseball team came up short.

The Trojan softball team defeated the Roadrunners 5-1 to pick up their fifth win in a row. Pleasantville Coach Alee Phillips tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, “Carly cox pitched a great game against a tough hitting team. Our defense won us that game. Kally Wysong, Ella Clark & Emily Roe played an excellent game in the outfield for us with great catches to keep base runners off the bases. Majority of their hits were hard line drives that they all read & executed well. Kally Wysong had a double play in the bottom of the 3rd with a line drive catch & put out at second from runner taking off. Ella Clark robbed what would have been a homer straight shot into center in the 5th. Madilyn Rowson had a huge play late in the game for us in the bottom of 6th throwing a girl out caught stealing from 2nd to 3rd. Our girls got hits when we needed them. Kyleigh McConnell had 2 RBIs & Kally Wysong, Taylor Perkins & Faith Nelson with an RBI apiece. Carly Cox had two stand up doubles for us. We kept constant pressure on them on the base paths & were able to keep the momentum going our way to get the W”

After the win the Trojan softball team improves to 8-4 overall and will next compete Thursday night in a varsity doubleheader at home against Woodward-Granger.

The #8 ranked Trojan baseball team fell to the Roadrunners 4-3. Pleasantville Coach Sheldon Card said a few unearned runs cost his team, but they fought back and tied it up in the 5th inning to have a chance late. After the loss, the Trojans fall to 7-6 on the season and will be back in action on Thursday for a varsity doubleheader at home against Woodward-Granger.
