At a special retirement open house held Wednesday, Hearthstone, A Ministry of Wesleylife  gathered with community members to honor Household/Lifestyle Coordinator Chris Thomas’ 45 years with the organization.

Executive Director Nancy Hamilton says that Chris has been an invaluable member of the Hearthstone team.

“Just having Chris here is a joy and really an honor to know that when she’s here, things are going to be taken care of. Doesn’t matter what department needs help, doesn’t matter which resident, which team member, which family, I know she’s always here to make sure that needs are met and just be that bright light that really helps to set the tone with the rest of the team. Somebody for them to look up to and to know, how do I do this well and how do I finish well. She’s still planning to come back and assist down the road also, so we’re very excited about that.”

Chris said that it was overwhelming, but an honor to be recognized for her time at Hearthstone.

“Well, I think it’s really cool that the majority of the people just came up to me and said how many lives I have touched over these years, and the good memories, and my servant heart. I had several people say that to me that they were really proud of how I have helped people and been part of their lives as families and friends.”
