The Knoxville Softball Squad fell to class 5A #7 Ankeny in the Creston Invitational on Saturday 5-1 and lost to class 4A #9 Dallas Center-Grimes 3-0. The Panthers were down 5-0 to the Hawks before plating a run in the bottom of the 7th inning as they were outhit 10-5. Addi Dunkin led the Panthers at the plate with two hits while Charlye Willis took the loss going the distance. In game two against DCG the Panthers found themselves in a familiar position down 3-0 late but was unable to plate any runs. Knoxville was held to just four hits, while only giving up five, however, three errors were Knoxville’s undoing. Ciara Heffron took the loss scattering five hits and striking out three. Knoxville hosts Chariton on Monday.
