The Des Moines Skydivers are holding an open house in Knoxville on Sunday.

This second annual open house is a free event that will be held at the Knoxville airport from 11:00am-2:00pm. You can bring a lawn chair and spend the day watching parachutes land as different people jump out of planes. There will be several different food trucks and treats available, and you can enter for a chance for free skydiving. Jagannathan Alagurajan with the Des Moines Skydivers Club says this is a great opportunity to learn more about skydiving or try it for the first time.

“We follow all the guidelines. We will explain everything in detail as to how and what is being done. The evolution of skydiving has come to a point where three million skydivers every year in the United States are able to do it without much of a safety issue at all. I would encourage everyone who has looked at it or has ever thought of it to come out and skydive.”
