Melcher-Dallas will hold their annual Coal Miner’s Day celebration on Friday, June 21st through Sunday, June 23rd.
The event will begin with food trucks being available at 5 pm, and a bags tournament will take place at 6:30 pm. Also included on the opening night of the celebration will be the Melcher-Dallas Fire Department’s first annual Coalminers Water Fights. The kids water fight will take place at 5:30 pm, with the fire department’s water fight taking place at 7:30 pm.
Saturday’s festivities start with registration for the car show at 8 am and the Coal Miners Day 5K Run/Walk at 9 am. The National Anthem will then take place in the park at 10:30 am, before the parade and the car show start at 11 am. The Coal Miner’s Museum will be open at 11:30 am, and a variety of events will also start at that time, including a meal at the fire department, a vendor show at the park, bingo, kids games, and inflatables. Other activities scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd include tractor pulls, the car show judging, the Quilt of Valor Presentation at the American Legion, and a raffle.
A golf tournament will end the event on Sunday, June 23rd at 9 am.
