The American Rivers Conference announced the spring sports all-academic honorees Wednesday and 60 Central College student-athletes were recognized for their academic and athletic excellence.

The women’s track and field teams had 30 selections while the men’s team had 14. The softball program had seven, the men’s tennis team had four, the baseball team had three, and the men’s golf team had two that were recognized.

Central had 16 student-athletes recognized for at least the third time, while fifth-year seniors Sydni Huisman and Adam Sylvia of softball and men’s track and field received their fourth honor, respectively.

To qualify for the distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with one year at his/her current school, achieve a 3.5 GPA or better and be on the team’s eligibility list.
