Seventy-two student athletes competing in spring sports for Simpson College earned a spot on the American Rivers Conference All-Academic Team.

The Storm’s 72 honorees rank second in the conference. Track and field represented 35 of the 72 athletes, with 19 coming from the men’s side and 16 from the women’s. Baseball had 17 total honorees, the second-most in the conference.

Softball was next up with 15, the highest of any other conference softball program. Men’s golf tied for first in the conference with four recipients, while men’s tennis also added one to the Storm’s total.

To be eligible for the conference’s All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence, and attain an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
