A skydiving incident at the Knoxville Airport Friday afternoon left an individual in critical condition.

According to Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt, at 2:24 pm a 62-year-old male from Urbandale experienced issues with his parachute while skydiving. The individual suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Des Moines Hospital . 

Knoxville Fire and Rescue, the Knoxville Police Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were the responding agencies for this incident. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for any updates.
