David Gravel has been the man to beat this season with the World of Outlaws Nos Energy Drink Sprint Cars and usually when he comes to Knoxville he is a heavy favorite to win. Both would come out to be accurate as Gravel took control in the late stages of the A-Main after Kyle Larson’s engine let go while leading and cruised to the win. Gravel said in victory lane, he would have liked to have seen how the race panned out had Larson not had his troubles.
Gravel: “You could definitely tell he was better than us. When you don’t have the left front shock holding your down. I wish it could have played out, because I knew he was aggressive and I might have been able to get underneath him.”
Parker Price-Miller, who battled with Gravel in the early stages of the race, was 2nd, and Rico Abreu placed 3rd. The Pro Sprints also ran, and for the third time this season J Kinder claimed victory. He passed Mike Mayberry after a restart and pulled away on lap 12. Tonight the World of Outlaws are back plus the Knoxville 360 Sprint Cars will run. Live coverage can be heard on KNIA with Live Track Side at 5:00 and Race Nights Live at 7:00.
