The Marion County Road Department has been busy this summer, working on numerous road construction projects throughout the county.

While many of the projects have affected traffic on primary roads, Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian says that county staff has helped alleviate inconveniences for residents. Christian says that he is grateful for the work that the road department staff has done this spring and summer, and for helping make his job less stressful. 

“When I can be hands off on a project, that means I know that they’re doing their job and their job’s going well, which has been my experience here in this super busy time that we have. There’s many days last week when I was the only one in the office and the phone’s not ringing. I can do my job, and that means our maintenance crews, and our construction inspectors, and assistant engineers are out there doing their job and that’s what we hired them to do. So, I’m very thankful for them and their efforts all across the board in our department.”
