Corey Day came into the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday and stole one from the World of Outlaws Nos Energy Drink Sprint Cars. Day, who is a regular on the High Limit Racing Series, won his first career race at the Knoxville Raceway, and the World of Outlaws heard live on KNIA. Day and Logan Schuchart battled nearly all race long until Day and Schuchart went into turn two, but only Day made it out as Schuchart hammered the wall on lap 22. After the clean up, Donny Schatz and Kyle Larson, who had rocketed from 13th to 3rd, could not catch him. Day said in victory lane, he was clearly better on top.

Day: “I feel like around the top for sure. If it was one lane lower he might have got me. He went out and left me in the dash and I thought I was in trouble, but I kept getting a good drive off.”

In the 360s, Tasker Phillips took his first career win in the 360 class at the Knoxville Raceway, leading the last eight laps of the race. The Knoxville Raceway will take next week off so many of the drivers can race at the four day Husets High Bank Nationals. The next racing at the Knoxville Raceway will be June 29th.
