The City of Indianola Rental Housing Registration and Inspection Program is currently in the final phase of implementation, working on inspecting the properties in Ward 2 and Ward 4.
The program began in 2022, after the latest census data showed the city with a population of over 15,000 which prompted the creation of the program as required by state law.
Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News rental housing in the city limits of Indianola are currently being inspected over three inspection periods determined by Ward location. Registration for rental housing is available on the City of Indianola website, and is due by June 30th for properties who have yet to register in Ward 2 and Ward 4.
