The Indianola City Council approved a major site plan application at their meeting Monday for a series of retail and restaurant businesses at 302 North Trail Ridge Avenue, north of the Indianola Wellness Campus. City of Indianola Deputy City Manager/Chief of Development and Operations Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the site plan includes a five unit commercial strip center including a Starbucks, and the city hopes this development is a catalyst for further development to the north and northeast of that area.
“This development will help in getting Willowcrest extended to the east off of N Jefferson. Willowcrest is the road that is meant to be in between DeYarman Ford and Theisens up there. Right now it is just stubbed in off the highway and doesn’t go anywhere other than those two businesses. But pushing that road to the east will serve as access to that vacant piece of ground.”
