Despite technically playing their second game Tuesday, the Dutch baseball team showed few signs of exhaustion in an 8-2 defeat of Winterset. Knocking off Indianola just after midnight in a 14-inning contest did little to slow down the green and white on the road, as they took an early lead and cashed in with multiple-run innings in the 5th and 6th. Pella used a large portion of their pitchers Monday, so Samuel Carlson made the most of his chance to start: pitching a complete game and striking out 11 in the effort, while also adding two hits at the plate. Isaiah Kettler and Nathan Carey each drove in two runs apiece. Pella improves to 16-6 overall and will try to play spoiler at #3 in 4A Dallas Center-Grimes this evening.
