Twin Cedars did the two step in Melcher-Dallas as both baseball and softball squads scored decisive wins over their arch-rivals. Baseball rolled over the Saints 12-0, limiting the Saints to just two hits and getting 14 of its own. Both Kaden Kloster and Wayatt Findley went 3/4 Findley drove in five runs and Holden Roberts had three RBI. Wyatt Patty got the win going 2 1/3 innings of no-hit ball and striking out four. The Saints managed just two hits on the night, each by Mason DeJong, and Evan Schrader. Leo Schrader took the loss going six innings giving up 11 hits and walking four. It was virtually the same story on the softball diamond as Twin Cedars also beat Melcher-Dallas 12-0. Jillian French threw a four inning three hitter and struck out nine. She and Cristen Durian homered and drove in three runs, Khloe French also drove in three. Melcher-Dallas was lead at the plate by Hayden Branson, Jenna Mickey, and Kesley Reed all got one hit. Lotty Nolte took the loss, walking two and striking out one. Twin Cedars Softball will host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont tonight while baseball will host Ogden. The Saints will go their separate ways tonight as baseball hosts Central Decatur while softball travels to Centerville.
