With development in both the east and west sides of Highway 65/69 in Indianola currently underway, multiple major site plans for both residential and commercial have been approved by the Indianola City Council. Deputy City Manager Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the city wants to take advantage of having the main route through the city full of options for expansion and growth.
“It’s understanding the importance of what that highway corridor does bring. With the traffic, that section of N Jefferson Way has the most traffic we have in town. That doesn’t surprise anybody, so keeping some of those retail businesses along that highway corridor, but then also putting some larger residential developments in to compensate for that is really important.”
