After decades in public service and emergency response, Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator Troy Bass is retiring on July 5th. Bass has served as Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator since 2013, and tells KNIA News oftentimes his most memorable achievements were through some of the most simple interactions with the public.
“Getting a big thank you after we’ve been on a bad call and we were there to support the family, the victim, or the responders, and to get a thank you. From the fire world even to emergency management. Getting people help and using the Red Cross to support folks, the big thank yous go a long way, even a smile and a handshake go a long way.”
Miranda Chadwick will be officially taking over as the new Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator on July 6th, after beginning training on May 20th. Hear more from Bass on today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
