Marion County 4-H is preparing for the upcoming county fair.

The 2024 Marion County Fair will take place July 12-18th, and this year’s theme is “Barn in the USA”. The fair will be filled with many different events, activities and entertainment, but one of the highlights every year is the projects that will be on display in Dyer Hudson Hall by local 4-H groups. There will also of course be animals on display at the fair that have been entered by local 4-H exhibitors. Iowa State University and Extension County Youth Coordinator for Marion County Ashtin Wells hopes the community can come out to the fair and see the talent on display from local 4-H members.

“Dyer Hudson is an amazing building to go into. I would encourage you if you’ve never been to the fair to stop into that building. That is a building that has youth projects. Last year we had over 800 projects, and I would expect the same this year. These are projects like photography, food and nutrition, and woodworking.”
