Indianola Schools Superintendent Ted Ihns is retiring from the district on June 30th. Ihns tells KNIA News he appreciates his time at Indianola and wants the community to know just how special they are in their support of the school which was made apparent after the Indianola High School bond issue in 2022 passed with overwhelming support.

“Eighty-seven percent of people that took part in the bond issue vote approved it. I can tell you this, you can go and look in any neighboring state in probably the past five, six, seven years, you won’t see that kind of support for a bond issue. So we are really fortunate that as a community and as a school district, that our families and community want what is best for our kids. We want to attract families and that will do that.”

New Superintendent Tara Paul will take over at the beginning of the FY25 fiscal year, July 1st.
