The Rotary Club of Pella held a celebration of the new basketball and pickleball court at Rotary Park Saturday.

The group discussed the improvements made in partnership with the City of Pella Parks Department at a ceremony that was followed by a ribbon cutting.

Throughout the event, the Rotarians served Pannenkoeken and Iris Coffee had cold brews for attendees. Free will donations were encouraged to support future park improvement projects. Pella’s Rotary is currently working on a possible splash pad at the site, as well as other enhancements they are seeking community support for.

A pickleball clinic, a Beat the Mayor challenge, basketball shooting contest, and home run derby were a part of the festivities on Saturday.
