The Twin Cedars Baseball Squad will host Southeast Warren on Monday as the Sabers try to get as many non-conference wins as they can to get momentum and confidence heading into the class 1A District in a couple of weeks. Twin Cedars drew the #2 seed in District 13 and will take on Seymour in the first round with the potential of playing North Mahaska in the second round. Coach Mateo Varese tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team wants to play the better non-conference teams to show everyone they are ready for the postseason.

Varese: “I’ve been super happy with how we’ve played. I think our guys have the mentality of wanting to play these teams and I think we’ve showed the state we’re not just willing to play these teams and not fold and get ten runed and why we’re the two seed in the district.”

The softball squad also plays Southeast Warren. In the Bound Era, the Warhawks hold a 12-10 lead, winning four of the last five meetings.
