The Norwalk summer sports teams look to get back on the winning track tonight, hosting non-conference matchups.
On the softball diamond, the Class 4A 2nd-ranked Warriors will take on 4A No. 11 Winterset at 7:15 p.m. The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA and KNIA3, starting with pregame coverage at about 7:00.
Norwalk is 22-4 overall and seeking their first win against the Huskies since 2014. The Warriors have dropped two of their last three games, letting late leads slip away vs. highly-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes and West Des Moines Valley. Winterset has won four straight games, improving to 18-13.
The Norwalk baseball team will try to snap a three-game slide when they host Des Moines Roosevelt at 7:30. The Warriors are 11-14 overall while the Roughriders are 20-11. The two teams last met in 2022, when Roosevelt topped Norwalk 3-2 in a nine-inning, first round Substate game.
