Activities on Panther Drive Tuesday Night were rained out as an approaching severe thunderstorm chased everyone away and the Knoxville and PCM softball game, plus the Knoxville baseball and Grinnell matchup, according to Activities Director Ryan Paulsen likely will not be made up. Baseball is back at it to finish up a double header from last Thursday against Centerville. The Panthers and Big Reds had completed game one with Centerville winning 5-4 in nine innings, but the two teams never got to the 2nd game as it was rained out. Coach Turner Devore, while no longer in contention for the conference title, still wants his team to finish out strong during the conference and regular season build for next year.

Devore: “We have to limit the mistakes, and figure out a way to not have a mental mistake hurt us. Improve our approach at the place. Those things we have to get better at so it will go into next year and the following year.”

First pitch is set for 7:00 at the Knoxville Baseball Field. Meanwhile the softball squad will be playing next on Thursday against Clarke in a key conference game that is now a must win to keep conference title hopes alive.
