Ag in the City returns as the theme of Thursdays in Pella tonight. The event begins at 6:00 this evening in Central Park, and will include farm implements and machinery, local FFA students hosting animals and other displays, and the Red Rock Threshers Club. Marion County Farm Bureau Outreach Coordinator Jill De Bruin says that she is grateful that Ag in the City provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of agriculture.

“It’s meaningful to be able to promote what we love so much that we do on the farm, that agriculture does for all of us. We know that more and more people are farther removed from farms as we get generations away from the smaller farms. Some of the kids now don’t have a grandpa and grandma on a farm or an aunt and uncle, and they haven’t been around a farm, and it’s just so meaningful to get them a little closer to where their food comes from.”

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting from every Thursdays in Pella this summer.
