The Knoxville School Board will meet in a special session tonight.
On the agenda is the hiring of a new West Elementary principal. This comes after the recent resignation of former principal Amy Taylor. Knoxville Community School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson says they have interviewed two candidates for the vacancy. Pearson says she is grateful for Taylor’s tenure with the district.
“Principal Taylor has been awesome. She has been with us for three years, and everyone at West has come to love her and she has loved everyone there. I know this was a difficult decision for her. We are so appreciative of the work she has done, loving on our littles, and moving our programs forward. We also want to wish her the very best.”
Taylor has accepted a job with Indian Hills Community College. Tonight’s special session will start at 5:30 pm at the district office.
