Both Melcher-Dallas Summer Squads fell in non-conference action on Wednesday as baseball fell to Colo-NESCO 9-3 and Softball lost to Madrid by an almost identical score of 9-2. The Royals struck first in their half of the 1st to make it 1-0 and then added two more runs in the 3rd. The Saints got two back in the bottom of the 4th, but Colo-NESCO scored six unanswered runs in the final three innings to take control. Mason DeJong was 2/3 at the plate with an RBI. He also took the loss on the mound going five innings striking out six. The softball squad allowed two runs in the top of the 2nd, but got those two back in its half of the 2nd, but that was all the Saints would get. Brylee Gibson led the way at the plate with two RBI. Lotty Nolte struck out five in the loss. Both Saints squads have the rest of the week off.
