The Norwalk baseball team completed the season sweep over Pella Christian Wednesday night, winning both games of a doubleheader 8-4 and 8-0, and the second game was heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
In the opening game, the Eagles took a 2-1 lead in the first inning and held that lead until the fourth inning, when the Warriors took control of the doubleheader. Norwalk scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth, and after Pella Christian scored twice in the fifth, the Warriors added two more tallies in the sixth to pick up the 8-4 win. The nightcap was all Norwalk, as they scored seven runs in the first two innings and never looked back. Aidan Harder led the Warriors offense in the first game, going 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and a double. Cole Wardlow dominated the second game for Norwalk, going 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored, and also earning a three-hit, complete game shutout victory on the mound while recording 11 strikeouts. Caleb Van Arendonk provided most of the offense for Pella Christian on the night, going 3-for-4 at the plate in the opener, coming up just a home run shy of the cycle while posting two RBIs and two runs scored. With the win, the Warriors improved to 13-14 overall and 9-6 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Pella Christian fell to 12-19 overall and finished conference play with a 3-14 league record.
