The Pella School Board held the first of two summer meetings Wednesday evening. The board received a presentation from Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini about extension of an urban renewal plan and tax increment financing for proposed housing developments in the community. No action will be taken until the July meeting at the soonest.
Resolutions on the agenda included approval of a final release of retainage to Graphite Construction for the tennis court project, EMC Insurance renewal for 2024-25 — which includes several possible increases for hail/wind damage claims and premiums, as well as a nursing services contract with UnityPoint, a quote for $21,467 with Zaner-Bloser for handwriting classroom materials, and an associate mentor program. The Pella School Board also reviewed and approved several building and department handbook changes.
