Another round of thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and severe weather, primarily Friday locally. According to the National Weather Service, multiple rounds of rainfall are likely in many communities in south central Iowa starting early Friday morning and continuing through the early afternoon. Widespread rainfall in excess of 1/2″ is likely, with 1-2″ possible and some higher amounts, depending on the track of thunderstorms. A slight risk for severe weather and excessive precipitation are both in place on Friday. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air for any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for Marion and Warren Counties.
