Agriculture took over Central Park in Pella Thursday with Ag in the City, highlighting the industry with a variety of activities and displays throughout the downtown. 

On the Tulip Toren stage, the Lil’ Miss Firecracker and Mr. America contest kicked off entertainment, with Madix Ritchie and Kelsey Daugherty being named as this year’s winners. Following the contest on the Tulip Toren stage was the chicken pageant, the trick roper, and the city band. Several farm implements were on display on Washington, Franklin, and Main Streets, the Marion County Cattlemen brought back their booth, and the Pella FFA hosted a petting zoo, among other activities.

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting from every Thursdays in Pella this summer. Thursdays in Pella will not be held next week in observance of Independence day, before returning on Thursday, July 11th.
