After handing Class 2A #1 West Marshall their only loss of the year earlier this season, the Pella Christian baseball team will look to duplicate that effort Monday night.

Competing against a Trojans team that was 7-1 at the time of their first meeting on May 23rd, the 4-1 Eagles scored all ten of their runs in the first two innings to earn the 10-6 upset win. The season has gone much differently for the two teams since that contest, with Pella Christian going 8-18 since May 23rd and West Marshall going 24-0. To pull off their second upset of the Trojans this season, the Eagles will have to contend with a lineup and pitching staff that lights up the leaderboards in Class 2A. At the plate, West Marshall tops the class in home runs, RBIs, runs scored, hits, on base percentage, and slugging percentage. On the other end of the equation, the Trojans pitching staff holds the lowest ERA and the most strikeouts recorded.

First pitch for Pella Christian’s rematch with West Marshall on Monday is slated for 7:15 pm at Schilling Field in State Center.
