The Indianola Fire Department wants to remind those who may plan to set off fireworks over the upcoming Fourth of July weekend to do so safely. Fire Captain Thad White tells KNIA News you should not light off fireworks while drinking alcohol, and to especially keep a watch over kids while in the vicinity of fireworks as even the smaller, seemingly harmless fireworks can cause injury, as sparklers burn at almost 2000 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Indianola Fire Department said the best way to enjoy fireworks is to go and see a show run by professionals, and barring that to follow the City of Indianola’s ordinance on fireworks.
