This Saturday marks another induction of the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame. Six new inductees will be enshrined during a luncheon on Saturday. The Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame celebrates the rich tradition of weekly racing and those who made their mark at the half-mile. Raceway Historian Eric Arnold tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this weekend will celebrate those who have contributed to the growth of weekly racing at the Knoxville Raceway.
Arnold: “The National hall of fame obviously covers the entire United States, but the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame covers those who contributed to the weekly racing here at the raceway.”
Going into the Hall of Fame this year is Announcer Tony Bokhoven, Safety Crew Members Mahala Cox and Doug Ripperger, Driver Don Droud Jr, Driver/owner Matt Moro, and Car Owner Bob Richardson. The public is invited to attend the luncheon at noon on Saturday, just call the raceway office at 842-5431, tickets are $10 per person.
