The Knoxville RAGBRAI Executive Committee will hold its second town hall meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting will be at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center at 6:00pm and will include updates on the planning progress for the upcoming Knoxville RAGBRAI overnight stay, on Wednesday, July 24th. Members of the Knoxville RAGBRAI Executive Committee will lead the discussion, covering various topics including the downtown concert area, camping arrangements, housing options, shuttle services, volunteer opportunities, traffic management, parking areas, full route details, and vendors. The information shared will be similar to what was discussed at the previous town hall meeting on May 29th. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nathan Sage says the RAGBRAI executive committee has worked hard to get to the point of being able to hold these town hall meetings.
“RAGBRAI themselves recommend that most of the overnight stay towns have a few town hall meetings throughout the process. We have met in different aspects with our volunteers already, we’ve met with representatives from the county already, but we’ve been waiting to have these town hall meetings because we want to go to this meeting with the experts and having our ducks in a row. It’s just this process you have to go through to check off the box to make sure you are where you are supposed to be as a community.”
All individuals that have signed up to volunteer or are interested in volunteering are requested to attend according to Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery.
