The PCM softball team defeated Newton 5-1 at home Monday night in a non-conference matchup.

The #8 ranked Mustangs scored one run in the first inning and were able to push three runs across in the second to go up 4-0 in the contest. After PCM tacked on one more in the fourth, the Cardinals were able to only answer with one run in the sixth inning as the Mustangs held on for the 5-1 win. After the win, the PCM softball team improves to 21-3 overall and will be back in action tonight against Gilbert.
