Pella resident Brittny Ann Tschetter has been named a finalist in Final Salute Incorporated’s Ms. Veterans America competition.

Tschetter competed virtually in the semifinals on July 29th and was selected as one of the twenty finalists to compete in the live event on October 13th in Orlando, Florida. The purpose of the competition is to provide awareness and assistance to the growing issue of homelessness among female veterans. Tschetter says that in addition to raising awareness and providing assistance, the event helps showcase female veterans beyond just their service in the military.

“As women veterans, we’re so much more when we take off the uniform and I think that’s what they’re trying to show is that we are capable of doing so many things. We are our best advocates for these women veterans because we know them, it’s that special bond that we go back to, so what better people to advocate for these women than women veterans that share such a bond.”
