A pair of home runs and another strong pitching performance kept Pella’s now-ninth ranked baseball team in the win column at Fairfield in a 6-3 victory Monday.

The Dutch had round-trippers from Isaiah Kettler and Teagan Hoekstra, as the two also combined to allow just four hits on the mound with Hayes Lautenbach. However, Pella committed four errors that allowed the Trojans to score all of their runs unearned and keep the game somewhat in arms’ reach. The Dutch baseball team improves to 23-8 and hosts Davis County tonight for their final regular season home game. Varsity action begins at 7:30 this evening.

The Pella softball team is seeking its 20th win of the year at Saydel this evening in the regular season finale. If the Dutch break that mark, it would be the first time since the 2015 state tournament team that the green and white had a 20 win season. First pitch is at 7 p.m. at Saydel.
