The Indianola baseball team fell to the Comets of North Polk in their regular season finale on Tuesday 8-5. The Comets took a 1-0 lead into the fourth inning before the Indianola bats woke up, scoring three runs before North Polk answered in the bottom of the inning with a run making it 3-2 Indianola through the fourth. The Indians added another run in the fifth to lead 4-2, only to see the Comets score twice to tie the score at four going into the sixth. The Indians again took a brief lead in the top of the sixth to lead 5-4, but North Polk answered again scoring four runs to earn the win. The Indians end the regular season with a record of 25-12, and will host Des Moines East on Friday in the first round of postseason play.
