The Pella Public Library will continue its Outdoor Adventure Series by hosting Walking the Appalachian Trail with Dean Ayers on Wednesday, July 17th at 6:30 p.m.

Dean began walking the 2,190 mile trail in Georgia 30 years ago, inspired by spending two weeks in the mountains hiking at a boy scout ranch with his son. After trips of about 100 miles every year or two, he reached the Maryland border on his last outing. During the Outdoor Adventure Series, Dean will show scenic photos and share about his adventures hiking, backpacking and camping on the trail. Ayers will also share his observations on how the world’s longest hiking-only footpath has changed over the years.

The program will take place in the Library’s Meeting Room and is free and open to the public. For questions about this or other upcoming events, contact the library at 641-628-4268.
