team-10

The new season has arrived for area softball squads in class 4A and Knoxville will begin its regional road at home against Oskaloosa. The Panthers and Indians are coming in lacking a bit in momentum as the Panthers have lost their last three and only gone 2-6 to end the regular season giving up 49 runs while scoring 29. However, both of the wins in the last eight games for Knoxville have been at home, where the Panthers have lost just twice all season. Oskaloosa also comes in spinning its wheels a bit, going 2-7 in its last nine games. Regardless of who has momentum or not, Knoxville Coach Chris Peden is more concerned how his girls approach the game.

Peden: “I’m looking for at the end of the day how you go about the way you played softball, and are you working on the things we need to work on.”

Tonight’s winner will head to the regional semi-final in Carlisle on Saturday. Live coverage is on 95.3 KNIA with the pregame at 6:40.
