What started as the Brothers McCarl battle, became a wild three lap back-and-forth between Austin McCarl and Kerry Madsen as McCarl outdueled Madsen to the line in the 410 feature on another sizzling night of racing at the Knoxville Raceway. Garet Williamson started on the pole and checked out when the green flag dropped, but Williamson dropped out when he spun and caught the berm on lap five. That put Carson McCarl up front on the restart, but that was short lived when brother Austin took the lead. He would lead the final ten laps but Kerry Madsen seemed to have a faster car, but never could out run McCarl. He told KNIA/KRLS that he had thrown just about everything at the car and knew Madsen would give him all he could handle.

McCarl: “Obviously moving down, whatever Kerry was doing was better. I was so plugged in to the car I thought if anyone is going to beat me they’re going to beat me down there, and Kerry was that good.”

Aaron Reutzel continued his dominance in the 360s, leading all 18 laps and never being challenged the entire night. There was a new winner in the Pro Sprints as Ryan Navratil, who has been racing at Knoxville for nearly a decade finally got his first win as he got around Devin Kline on lap 11 and cruised to the win. Next week, there should be a full field of 360s as it’s the 360 Shootout, plus the 410s will run a weekly show.
