The PCM softball team defeated Clarke 1-0 in the Class 3A Region 2 semifinals on Saturday night.
The #8 ranked Mustangs outlasted the Indians in a fierce pitching battle with both teams trying to keep their seasons alive. Rylee Parsons was the starting pitcher for PCM pitching four innings only giving up one hit while Camden Webb pitched three innings giving up three hits. Tori Lindsay had the lone run in the contest for the Mustangs. PCM Coach Shaun Hudnut said his team played great defense all around.
PCM will now face Clarinda at home on Tuesday in a regional finals game with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
